GENERAL INFORMATION

Ukrainian Marketing Association is a national professional membership organization established as NGO and presenting more than 1000 marketers and 120 marketing organizations from all around Ukraine.

Two types of membership:
• Individual members: market specialists and managers of marketing industry including marketing research specialists, faculty members of the marketing departments at the educational institutions, etc.
Collective members: institutions and entities constituting national industry of marketing, e.g. marketing and consulting agencies, branding and advertising firms, educational organizations, software developers for marketers, etc.
UMA Purpose
The purpose of The UMA is to advance the marketing industry and to promote its role in the Ukraine’s economy by:
Providing educational programs and publications in all aspects of marketing profession development, its finance, management, and other specialized areas of professional interest;
Conducting meetings and other programs designed to promote the exchange of ideas among members and to facilitate the conduct of their business;
Collecting and disseminating information pertaining to the marketing industry, including statistical data and other statistical research;
Developing and maintaining professional certification programs to encourage high standards for marketing professionals;
Advocating the interest of the marketing industry to local, state/regional, and international governmental bodies; and
Publicizing to the general public promotional and educational marketing business information.
Organizational Structure
The net of UMA representative offices is maintained in every region of Ukraine. To the moment it consists of 20 regional organizations/collective members normally presented by regional marketing research companies. Two of them at the same time are also city organizations of UMA.
UMAs activity is provided through its committees and clubs such as:
Directors Club joining the research companies directors;
Top-Marketing Club;
Light Industry Committee;
Student Marketing Club;
Teachers Marketing Club;
MRP Club (research client club); and others.

Bimonthly “Marketing in Ukraine” Journal published since 1998, is professionally highly recognized in Ukraine (http://uam.in.ua/eng/projects/marketing-in-ua/ );
Marketing Newspaper - the on-line newsletter with 2500 subscribers (http://uam.in.ua/rus/projects/marketing-newspaper/arhive.php );
Year book – annual members directory and information;
Official translation of the ESOMAR Codes & Guidelines to Ukrainian. The publication was financially supported by the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine (Matra KAP Program, 2003)
Education and conferences
Seminars, trainings, and other programs and courses for marketing specialists designed to increase knowledge, elevate professionalism, and foster best practices;
Corporate trainings on merchandising, consumer psychology, business-planning etc.;
Marketing in Ukraine - International annual conference;
Industrial Marketing - all-Ukrainian professional forum;
Ukraine national professional certification and qualification program for marketing specialists has started by UMA in 2007.
Professional Ethics Advocacy
UMA members mandatory requirement of compliance to Marketing Research Quality Standards meeting the ESOMAR Requirements and the STANDARDS OF ADVERTISING FREE FROM GENDER DISCRIMINATION;
Ukrainian Marketing Associations Arbitrage Court for marketing industry has registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine In 2005.
