Participation in the final meeting within the framework of the project
“Extraordinary support of civil society and mass media in response to the war in Ukraine”: successes, challenges and plans for the future In April 2024, the final meeting was held within the framework of the project “Extraordinary support of Ukraine” and the program “Resilience”, which are financed by the European Union and implemented by ERIM International (Equal Rights & Independent Media) in partnership with Black Sea Trust, Eastern Europe Foundation, Human Rights Houses Foundation and Human Rights House in Tbilisi.
Alyona Tanasiychuk, head of the project “Research of the socio-economic situation and needs of IDPs in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region”, head of the Vinnytsia separate division of the NGO “Ukrainian Marketing Association”, professor of the Department of Marketing and Advertising of the Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics of DTEU, head of the Business School of VTEI DTEU presented the results of the project implemented within the framework of this program. As a result of the implementation of the project, the study of the socio-economic situation of IDPs in the Vinnytsia region was carried out based on official data, the satisfaction of the needs of IDPs and the clarification of problematic issues in the socio-economic sphere, the systematization of information about the interested parties supporting IDPs in the Vinnytsia region was carried out . The participants of the event received a link to an analytical report based on the research results, which they can use in their work.
The challenges that arose during the implementation of the project were also identified: the involvement of completely different respondents in the project, as it was important to interview representatives of local authorities and self-government bodies and entrepreneurs who relocated/started their businesses and a mother of many children who lives in small towns / rural areas, representatives of international humanitarian and all-Ukrainian or local public organizations engaged in supporting IDPs.
The project manager analyzed the challenges that the team of researchers managed to overcome by inviting respondents from among internally displaced persons through various communication channels: sending a registration form to target groups, posting information on social networks in order to achieve objectivity of research results; thanks to the formed positive reputation of the NGO “Ukrainian Marketing Association” and the active civic position of its representatives in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region; due to the popularity of integration meetings for IDPs and other socio-humanitarian activities, which were held in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region by UAM representatives as part of grant projects.
An important point of the final meeting was that the partner teams had the opportunity to present ideas for the next joint projects and the expected results from the implementation.
We thank the ERIM team for their interest, constructive dialogue and support during project implementation
