Training: "Standard STANDARDS OF ADVERTISING FREE FROM GENDER DISCRIMINATION: Guidelines for the implementation into curricula"

 On February 20-21, 2019, Industrial Gender Committee on Advertising conducted training "Standard STANDARDS OF ADVERTISING FREE FROM GENDER DISCRIMINATION: Guidelines for the implementation into curricula". 40 representatives from more than 30 educational institutions in different regions of Ukraine discussed methodological issues of conducting classes with students on topics of non-discriminatory advertising, ethics of advertising messages, modern trends in advertising, and etc. Teachers exchanged experience in conducting classes, achievements in methods and arguments, studied European experience.

Last 10 years, European advertising associations have begun to carefully examine the negative social consequences of sexist advertising and develop self-regulation tools to prevent its occurrence, as well as conduct awareness campaigns among market representatives. Global brands are increasingly rejecting sexist plots, images, and utterances. Thanks to new technologies, consumers have become equal partners in a dialogue with companies and advertisers, who now have to be very sensitive to public inquiries. Studies and surveys of consumers of advertising show that in the 21st century in societies the demand for respect for a person, tolerance for diversity of individuals, reflection and non-condemnation of the diversity of human experience, social responsibility, freedom from the imposition of frames and stereotypes on any grounds are growing stronger
